Installing a corner shower in your bathroom space or mud room can be a simple week-end do it yourself project. It will make things run quicker if you already have the space for the corner shower cleared ahead of time and prepared for the shower (with moisture resistant green board or other precautions). It is also a good idea (and the law is some areas) that a licensed plumber install any new plumbing that might be required for the corner shower.

1. Turn off the water to the area you are working.

2. Measure the cleared and prepared space where you will be placing the corner shower. (Measure the door into the space as well so that you can be confident that the corner shower will fit through the door when you bring it home).

3. Purchase the corner shower base or kit that you will be installing. The base is the least expensive of all the corner shower elements, but you will have to create the walls from green board and tile. Kits usually come with the base, walls and even shower doors.

4. Bring the unit that you have purchase home and follow the instructions that are included with it.

5. Set the base of the unit in the corner space and be sure that it is level so that the water will flow out through the drain.

6. Attach the base to the walls through the designated spots.

7. If you are using a kit, follow the instructions to set the walls and other components. If you are just using the base then you will need to follow the directions for the tiles that you have purchased for your shower walls.

A corner shower is a great way to open a small bathroom space or to convert a large closet or other spot into a small bathroom.
